Custom Cancellation Policies
In an effort to support property managers who manage properties in multiple locations, we’ve gone ahead and coded the ability to define different cancellation policies PER PROPERTY.
Current Way of Doing Things
Previously, there was only the ability to enter a description of your cancellation policy within the Settings > Important Settings.
The policy was universal and would be displayed within your website and could be referenced via a merge tag when communicating with guests.
New Way of Doing Things
Going forward the cancellation policy will need to be setup and assigned to properties within Settings > Policies and Amenities.
Within Policies and Amenities there is a default cancellation policy that should be edited to reflect the cancellation policy that exists for the majority of all properties.
The descriptive text for the default policy will be blank unless there was existing text present within Settings > Important settings.
Please note that a cancellation fee can now be defined. The cancellation fee is a fee that will be assessed for any cancellation, regardless of when the cancellation occurs. It can be set to zero.
Refunds can now set up according to a schedule that will allow the refund amount due to be calculated when a cancellation occurs. Any amounts to be retained (greater than the defined cancellation fee) will be calculated and appended to the cancellation fee.
Just as with other policies in that interface, such as pets, children, smoking, etc.. additional cancellation policies can be defined and assigned to different properties.
